Austin is one of those cities that really prides itself on the homegrown philosophy. In a city full of creative talent, it is our privilege to be able to support these artists and carry their unique vision in By George. At South Congress, we are pleased to present Cambria Harkey and Margot Wolfe, two extremely skilled ladies that embody the talent of artists here in Austin.

Cambria Handmade

When I first felt one of Cambria’s deerskin bags, I was blown away by not only how buttery soft the leather was, but by the amount of work that went into this one crossbody. Knowing Cambria, it is easy to understand why she is so painstakingly detailed in her work. Her inspiration really arose from her own needs as a photographer. Her freelance work dictated a need for the perfect bag to carry, to cram things in, and to use. She filled this void by creating bags that reflected her love of quality and things that last. While she has been making her own bags since the early 90s, we are proud to say she launched professionally with By George about a year and a half ago!

Each of her bags and accessories are made from deerskin, bison, or cowhide leather sourced both locally and nationally. Every piece is hand hammered and hand sewn to last a lifetime. She envisions her pieces becoming a part of the owner over time. She admits that function and quality were the foundation for her pieces, and now fashion is the fun part!
